Peter Thursfield, baptised 1810 Newcastle under Lyme Staffordshire was the son of Thomas & Ann. There are two possibilities for his parents. Thomas (feltmaker) & Ann Broomer married 1806 Stoke on Trent & Thomas & Ann Merry married 1807 Stoke on Trent. See below for more details.
In October 1837 Newcastle under Lyme the birth is registered of Thomas Thursfield son of Peter of 7 Hassall Street & Mary formerly Wood.
On 13 th Sept 1840 in Congleton a death certificate records Enoch age 8 yrs died of inflammation of the brain, son of Peter Thursfield clockmaker. John Wood present at death.
On the 1841 census Peter Thursfield age 30 clockmaker, is living in Penkull Street, Newcastle under Lyme, with wife Mary 30, both born in county.
In 1850 at 21 Court 3 House Great Russell Street, St George Birmingham a birth certificate records the birth of Fanny Thursfield daughter of Peter (clockmaker) & Mary formerly Wood.
The 1851 census has the family visiting Joseph Lapworth at 138 Hampton Street, St. George Birmingham, Peter Thursfield age 40 clockmaker born Newcastle under Lyme, wife Mary age 40 born Congleton, children all born Newcastle under Lyme Thomas age 12 Jeweller, Ann age 7, Peter age 5, Fanny age 1. Also John Curtis Hayes 18 clockmaker born Newcastle under Lyme.
There was a death record in June quarter 1851 for Thomas Thursfield in Birmingham.
